Skype will not need any software to work via the web

Skype or Whatsapp

A few days ago from the official Microsoft blog a change in Skype for Web was announced. This Skype platform will no longer need plugins or add-ons to make the messaging service work. The idea is said to be that by using the H.264 standard, Skype will not need plugins to work via the web. To demonstrate all this, Microsoft has already enabled this new feature in Microsoft Edge. Thus, if we have Microsoft Edge, we can work with Skype without having to install anything on our computer, as if it were a Hangout service or another similar.

Microsoft Edge incorporates many new features such as the oTC engine that makes it possible to this novelty of Skype possible in Microsoft Edge. The rest of browsers will also have this interesting function for many, but unfortunately we will have to wait for this function since, according to Microsoft, everything will depend on the adoption of the H.264 format.

Skype does not need any plugin to work in Microsoft Edge

Currently we find Skype for almost all platforms but still each user looks for the best application to adapt to their needs and that makes for example Skype via web without add-ons is interesting for many, especially for those who do not have a device of their own at hand, although the security of this new format does not seem to be high, at least not as high as the native application or the operation under add-ons.

Personally, I think that the day Skype for web is compatible with all browsers without the need for a plugin, the use of this application will increase considerably. I myself, like many others, have sometimes had the need to talk to someone via Skype and either we have to install an application that we cannot install or simply the computer is not ours and we do not want to leave any trace, for these situations the web application without plugins is interesting and necessary Do not you think?
