How to change the date format in Windows 10

Date and Time

The customization options in Windows 10 are endless. However, by default some of them are usually set by default depending on the computer, regional settings, language, etc. Specifically, this is something that it happens very often with the date, since depending on the regional configuration you have established on your computer, it may be displayed one way or another.

However, you should not worry about it, since whether you do not like that the day, month and year are separated by the punctuation mark that you have configured (by default / in Spain), as if you do not like the order, since you prefer to change the day and year of position, as other possible variables, say that Windows incorporates a function with which you will be able to modify this without any problem..

This is how you can change the date format on any Windows 10 computer

As we mentioned, by default Windows gives the possibility to change the format of the date if you do not like the one you have decided to select. In this way, you will be able to modify both the order and the separators used in the taskbar and in the rest of the operating system. To do this, you just have to follow these steps:

  1. Access the windows settings. You can do this quickly by pressing on the keyboard of your Windows + I computer, or by going from the Start menu.
  2. On the initial screen, select the option "Time and language".
  3. Then on the left side make sure to choose "Region". Then go down to section "Regional format data", and finally at the bottom select "Change data formats".
  4. Now, in the "Short date" dropdown you will see all the available options. You just have to choose the one you prefer and it will be applied automatically.

Once you have modified it, you will be able to see directly in the taskbar that it has indeed been modified correctly, and therefore it is already displayed as it should. Optionally, you can also modify the format of the longest date that applies to other areas of the operating system, although here you will have fewer options.
