Microsoft Eedge is not having anywhere near the success that Microsoft expected and Internet Explorer continues to be replaced time and again by other web browsers on computers and other devices by a large number of users. This has meant that in the last hours we have known a series of data, provided by StatCounter, in which it is reflected that Firefox has surpassed Redmond's web browsers for the first time in history.
This is undoubtedly a hard blow for Microsoft that had already been seen and surpassed by Google Chrome, but now Firefox has also overtaken them, at least in the data referring to last April.
Firefox reached a market share of 15,6% last April, surpassing Microsoft's browsers, Internet Explorer and Edge, with 15,5%. Chrome occupies the first place with a market share of 60,47%, which is an overwhelming dominance and that leaves more and more evidence not only of Microsoft, but of other companies.
Microsoft expected that Edge, present in the new Windows 10, would have a much greater impact on the market, but unfortunately this has not been the case and its market share is very small. Unfortunately for the guys at Satya Nadella Microsoft Edge is still in a development phase still very far away and this has undoubtedly hurt it very much.
Perhaps this market share, referring to the month of April, is just a mirage and soon we will see Microsoft and its browsers regain second position, surpassed only by Google Chrome, but for now things look ugly.
What web browser do you use every day on your devices?
