Currently, one of the most popular Internet browsers is Google Chrome, since it has a multitude of very useful functionalities in addition to belonging to that firm, which makes it attract many people. However, one of the features that have helped the most to achieve this seems that it will not be available in the next few days.
And, despite the fact that version 81 of Chrome is about to arrive for all devices, it seems that the Google developers team have decided to take some measures with respect to the current situation, and for this same reason they have delayed that update and have generally paused the development of their applications.
Google cracks down on coronavirus and we won't see Chrome updates so soon
As we mentioned, the health crisis generated by COVID-19 it is increasingly affecting various fields and companies, some of them technological. This case is also Google's, where have taken a series of measures drastic in order to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
For this reason, according to the information that has been published the Chromium developer team on Twitter, it seems that updates to the Google Chrome web browser, as well as to various platform products, are going to slow down, except for some cases.
And it seems that Most of the employees in charge of the development of the Internet browser are not available due to these measures taken by Google against the coronavirusTherefore, only a reduced part of the template remains available. However, it is to be imagined that, for example, in the event that during these days a new important vulnerability is found on said browser, the appropriate measures are taken in this regard, but for now development of the official version of Google Chrome 81 is paused, as well as the rest of updates (also from Chrome OS).
Due to adjusted work schedules, we're pausing upcoming Chrome & Chrome OS releases. Our goal is to ensure they continue to be stable, secure, & reliable for anyone who depends on them. We'll prioritize updates related to security, which will be included in Chrome 80. Stay tuned.

During this time, we will not promote Chrome 81 from beta to stable. We plan to begin shipping Dev channels again in the near future, and will continue shipping Canaries as planned.
