How to add an AirPlay printer in Windows 10

AirPrint Printer

A few years ago, we could find printers even in cereal boxesThat is, once the ink in the cartridge it included runs out, we could throw away the printer because it stopped working. When looking for a printer, we must not only think about the use that we are going to make of it, but also how long we want it to last.

In my particular case, I have an HP Envy Phothosmart, a printer has been with me for 15 years and it continues to work as it did in the beginning. I chose to buy this printer by offering me the AirPlay function, a function that allows us to print remotely from any device, be it a computer or smartphone or tablet.

This printer, does not physically connect to my computerInstead, it connects to the Wi-Fi network of our home, in order to be available on each and every one of the computers that are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Although the easiest option is to install the manufacturer's application, it is never recommended If you don't want your computer to be filled with junk applications, applications that you are not going to take advantage of, except the one that allows you to configure the printer on your computer.

In addition, with Windows 10, it is the operating system itself that is responsible for downloading both the drivers and the manufacturer's application that is responsible for showing us the ink level of the cartridges. If you want to know how connect an AirPrint printer to your team, here are the steps to follow:

  • Once we have plugged in the printer and configured it to connect to our home Wi-Fi network, we access the Windows configuration options (Windows key + i)
  • Next, click on Devices.
  • In the left column, let's polish on Printers and scanners.

  • In the right column, let's polish on Add a printer or scanner.
  • When the name of the printer is displayed, click on it and click Add device.

A few seconds later, Windows 10 will begin to install the printer without having to download the printer software.
