Windows 10 computers come with the Microsoft Store installed by default. It is the application store, which the creators hoped would be the reference store for users. Although many users do not use it and download their applications from other sources. Therefore, for many it may be interesting to deactivate this store.
Next we are going to show you the steps to take to be able to disable the Microsoft Store on your Windows 10 computer. Thus, if you do not use the store or simply find it annoying, you will be able to get rid of it in a simple way.
Windows 10 doesn't give us a direct way to remove this store, although there is a way in which it is possible to do it. We can do it from the Windows registry. It is recommended before you start that you create a system restore point. We have taught you how to make one, this link.
We open an advantage to execute (Win + R) and we launch the regedit command in it. The registry opens, where we must go to this route: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft. There we have to check if there is a Microsoft Store registry key that would be called WindowsStore. If not, we create one, pressing the right button and a new key.
Once created, we have to give it a value. We select WindowsStore and right click. We will have several options and we choose New and then 32-bit DWORD Value. We have to assign it a name, which would be RemoveWindowsStore. When we do this, we double click and assign it a value of 1.
Then we can close the Windows 10 registry. If necessary, which in some cases it may be, we have to restart the computer. When we go back in we will see that the Microsoft Store has been completely deactivated.
