How to bring back the old User Account Control window
- We use the key combination Windows + R to open the Run command
- We type in the: regedit
- We press OK and the registry will open (there are other ways to do this step)
- We go to this registry:
- We double click on the entry XamICredUIAvailable DWORD and change its value from 1 to 0
- Click on OK
- We close the registry to complete the task
No reboot required the computer to already have the old user control panel. To check it, right click on an executable file and run it as Administrator to see the new window.
You can reverse changes by following the same steps and changing the DWORD value from 0 to 1. So you have it very easy to have the one that has always been or leave the new one that is more in line with that Windows 10 Anniversary Update.
