How to measure the temperature of our CPU

CPU temperature

Electronic devices become hot with continued use. If we add to that, a malfunction or lack of ventilation, the consequences can be fatal for the device if we do not manage to reduce it in time and it continues in time. In computers, a malfunction can lead the equipment directly to the trash.

Computer processors have a series of security mechanisms that when they reach a certain temperature, they stop working and in the best of cases they turn off until the temperature of the equipment has been reduced. Before getting to this type of problem, we are going to show you how to measure the temperature of our PC.

CPU temperature

The maximum working temperature of a device in conditions is around 50 degrees. When the processors are put to work, either with a game, or creating a video, the temperature of the same can rise above 70-80 degrees. If your equipment exceeds that barrier, you should consider checking your equipment's cooling system by cleaning the fans, checking the thermal paste and / or moving it if it is in an area where air does not circulate.

To measure the temperature of our PC, the best option we have at our disposal are the applications created by manufacturers of processors, either Intel or AMD.

Measure the temperature of an Intel processor

Intel makes the application available to us Intel XTU, from its official page, an application that takes care of monitor operating parameters of our team during the Overclocking process.

Measure the temperature of an AMD processor

If our equipment is managed by an AMD processor, we will have to use the application AMD Ryzen Master, an application that we can also download directly from the manufacturer's website and It offers us the same functions as the Intel application.

If the official application does not work for you, you can try a third party called HWMonitor, an application that you can download at this link https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
