How to put a video or GIF as wallpaper in Windows 10 for free

When it comes to customizing a Windows operating system, it wins the day. Since the first versions of this Microsoft software, many have been developers who have created applications for fill some gaps in this operating system, deficiencies related to aesthetics mainly, since in terms of functionality, little or nothing can be missing.

Surely on more than one occasion you have wanted to add a GIF or video to the desktop background image of your computer. Windows, for now, It only allows us to add photos not videos. However, if we search the internet, we can find a large number of applications that allow us to do so. All paid.

Auto Wall is a application as simple as effective. Once we run the application, we have to select which video or GIF we want to set as the wallpaper. When it comes to using videos, there are no limitations since we can even use videos in MKV format.

Once we download and run the application, it not installed on the computer (It is portable) so we must take it into account and not delete it from the directory where we save it, we can:

Add a background GIF to Windows 10

To add a background GIF, we have to click on Browse and select the folder where the file is located and click on Apply.

If we want to return to the previous screen background, we just have to click on the button Reset.

Add a background video to Windows 10

To add a background video, we have to click on Browse and select the folder where the file is located and click on Apply.

To use the wallpaper we used again, we just have to click on the button Reset.

Add a background YouTube video with or without music

To do so, we must copy the address of the YouTube video, adding at the end of the video address

? autoplay = 1 & loop = 1 & mute = 1 & playlist = (VIDEO_ID)

To add sound change the mute value (& mute = 1) to zero (& mute = 0). Video_ID is the code of the video displayed in the YouTube video URL.

For example in the video https://youtu.be/feA64wXhbjo the VIDEO_id IS feA64wXhbjo

If we want to play that video in the background with music, the URL would be (without the first and last hyphens)

Finally we click on Apply.
