How to use WhatsApp from a Windows 10 PC

WhatsApp

Windows 10 is Microsoft's new operating system that has not been available on the market for long, although in this short time it has managed to sneak into more than 100 million devices. Little by little we must learn to handle this new software and as always we are willing to give you a hand.

As you have already been able to read in the article, today we are going to explain you in a simple way how to use WhatsApp in Windows 10. In addition, we are also going to show you how to anchor the instant messaging service in the taskbar so that using it daily becomes something simple.

Until recently it was mandatory to have Google Chrome to be able to use WhatsApp Web, the web version of the messaging service, but for a few weeks it is also possible to use it in Microsoft Edge, the native Windows 10 web browser. Therefore, if you are a user of Microsoft's new web browser, you will not have to install another browser.

First of all, we must access WhatsApp Web from either of the two browsers, after which we will see a screen similar to the one shown below;

Now we must follow the instructions that we see on the screen to be able to link our WhatsApp account with the web browser session. To do this, we must open the instant messaging application on our mobile device, access the settings and choose the WhatsApp web option. There we must select "Scan QR code" to start using WhatsApp in Windows 10.

Once we have linked our smartphone with WhatsApp web we will be able to see all our contacts and conversations on our computer. Unfortunately, the WhatsApp web session is synchronized directly with the mobile device, so we must always have it close to be able to use this service. It is also essential to have it connected to the network of networks because if for example we put it in airplane mode, something certainly useful to be able to save battery at a specific time, we will not be able to continue using WhatsApp web.

How to pin WhatsApp to the taskbar or the Start Menu?

If we want to have WhatsApp always at hand on our computer or tablet with Windows 10, we have the interesting option to anchor it to the taskbar or even to the Start Menu of the Microsoft operating system. To do this, we must access the options menu of Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and look for the option "Add to the taskbar".

Everything could not be so simple and it is that in this way we will not see WhatsApp directly in the taskbar but for this we must first look for it in the Start Menu and look in the "Recently added" section. By clicking with the right button of the mouse on the application we can anchor it to the Start with a Live Tile or to the task bar to access the instant messaging service quickly and easily.

With all these instructions, any of you can start using WhatsApp from Windows 10, in a simple way, and also to be able to access it quickly and without having to access the service in an uncomfortable way every time we start the computer, anchoring it to the Start Menu or the taskbar.

At the moment and unfortunately WhatsApp is not a universal application for Windows 10, but perhaps it will soon be and we will no longer have to go through all this process to be able to send and receive messages. And it is that if the instant messaging application finally reaches Windows 10 as a universal application, we can use it in a simple way on all our devices with this operating system.

With WhatsApp as a universal application, we can have the application open on our mobile device with Windows 10 Mobile and continue using it without any problem on our computer or tablet without having to go through the entire process that we have explained to you today through this article.
