How to install and test the new Paint

Paint

Microsoft continues trying to improve some of the applications that we find in Windows 10 installed natively, and this time it was the turn of the popular Paint. As we learned a few days ago, this application is going to undergo a profound change that among other things will allow users to work in three-dimensional environments.

There are many users who use Paint on a daily basis and we really want to be able to try the new environment and the new options and functions. For this reason, today we are going to explain how to install and test the new Paint, without too many complications, although for this you will need to meet certain requirements that we explain just below.

In order to test the new Paint today we must make use of the Build 10586Build 14393 of the Anniversary Update or the Build 14936 of Redstone 2 for which you must follow these steps;

  • Turn off automatic updates from the Windows Store, which you can do in a simple way from the Settings section. This step is really important because if you don't do it, if Paint is updated, it will stop working.
  • Download this file and unzip it in C: / (the password to unzip is WindowsBlogItalia-0Bau4nQhDgkaWj2BFPjy)
  • "Summon" Cortana who will help us in the next step. Once the Microsoft wizard is available, type "Powershell" (without quotes) and run it as administrator
  • Once Powershell is started write (if the quotes) "Add-AppxPackage C: \ Paint-WindowsBlogItalia" and press Enner

With these steps that our friends from Windows Blog Italia have offered us, we would already have the new Paint installed and we could start to test it and see if it is really worth it.

Ready to try the new Paint?. Tell us if you have installed it and your opinion about the changes and improvements made to the popular application.
