Microsoft has presented a few hours ago an interesting tool for the entire community, which is specially dedicated for those who have Windows 8.1 or wish to have it on their personal computer.
The tool is named after Media Creation Tool and it can be used to create an installation disc for this operating system; The reasons for using it are present at the moment in which we may lose the installation disk or the ISO image of Windows 8.1, being able to create a new medium that will allow us to have this operating system on the computer again.
How the new tool works to install Windows 8.1
Although Microsoft has proposed this tool to make or create an installation disc for Windows 8.1, it can be run from any other operating system; For example, if you download and run the Media Creation Tool on Windows 10, it will show the conventional interface although, There you will only have the possibility to use it to create the Windows 8.1 installation disc. The trick to everything is that the tool connects to Microsoft's servers, downloading all the files that are necessary to be able to transfer them to a USB stick or a DVD disk.
This means that we will not need the ISO image of Windows 8.1 nor the physical disk. What Microsoft does ask is that you have a good Internet connection, since downloading all the files can take a considerably long time. In addition to this, the pendrive to be used should have at least 4 GB of storage space, with a higher capacity being recommended. Once you have generated your installation media with this tool, you will have to restart the computer with it inserted, be it this USB pendrive or the DVD disc that you created thanks to this tool.
