Microsoft has released a new video today that shows how users of a Surface device with Windows 8.1 can update it to the latest and new version Windows 10. Microsoft has made the process of upgrading to Windows 10 quick and easy.
Users can upgrade multiple PCs when installing a disc in a drive, a DVD or over the network using the Windows 10 media creation tool. As Microsoft explains in the video, the migration process is easy and straightforward. When users use setup.exe from the installation disc, it installs a Windows 10 image and maintains all settings, files, and data in a secure manner.
Windows 10 will update the user's computer to a version of Windows 10 just as it had a previous version of Windows installed. So, for example, if a user with Windows 7 Professional, will end up with a version of Windows 10 Pro after upgrade.
With this, Microsoft also wants to ensure that a PC user rest assured possible when you upgrade your system. If something goes wrong in the middle of the update process, Windows will automatically revert to a previous version of the OS so that users can try to solve the problem.
After the update, Windows 10 save the previous version of Windows in a file folder named Windows.old in the root C file of the disk. Thus, if users experience some kind of problem after the update or want to go back to it for some reason, they always have the option for 30 days to go back to that previous version of Windows.
If the user selects the update of your computer from scratch, you can download the appropriate drivers for the Surface 3 or Pro 3 from the download center.
An great upgrade option the one that Microsoft offers to its users who have found a Surface as their favorite device. Related to the Surface, we recently learned how the team behind this device could be preparing new smartphones.
