Preview the contents of a file with QuickLook

QuickLook

My beginnings in computing date back to the early 90s and not exactly with a PC. However, shortly after, my first PC came home, a 286, the best for the time. It was then that I began to demonstrate a unusual interest in computing, which has led me to be a computer science teacher and to write for technology blogs.

But it is not only Windows that man lives and as a curious person, I have also had the opportunity to test macOS, Apple's operating system on Macs. To this day, I use both operating systems daily. Each one has different advantages and functionalities that they could share, but that is unfortunately not the case.

QuickLook

One of them is macOS Preview, an application that allows me to quickly preview a file by pressing the space bar. This function not available natively on Windows, but we can add it through the application QuickLook, a free application that we can download from the Microsoft Store.

How QuickLook works has no mystery. When placing the course on a file, press the space bar to open / close the preview. If we want to close the preview that is shown, we can use the Esc key.

QuickLook

In addition, supports mouse wheel in combination with the Ctrl key, so we can zoom in on the images or documents that we preview with this application. If it is a music or video file, we can control the volume with the mouse wheel.

QuickLook does not work with Windows 10 S, so if you have a device managed by this version of Windows, you will not be able to take advantage of this fantastic functionality that increases our productivity since it allows us to check the content of documents, images, audio files, video files ...
