A tweet from @SecuriTay brought to light a change in Microsoft Windows 10 Pro that has been of interest to some. Specifically, after upgrading to Windows 10 Pro version 1511, users have found that now you don't have the ability to block using Windows Store.
The tweet highlights a change for the version of Windows 10 Pro that disables the user to be able to block the Windows Store; one of the features that many users access when they have this version of Windows and that has allowed it to be seen to be of greater value.
At the moment this change only applies to Windows 10 Pro, and the ability to block windows store is now a feature reserved for Windows 10 Enterprise and Education editions only.
From Microsoft one of the spokesmen has come to the fore to make an official statement about the change: «Microsoft is focused on helping to manage its environment in its Enterprise version while giving users the ability to choose the apps and devices they use to be productive. Windows 10 Enterprise is our offer that provides certain advantages for ITs with more sequential control over devices of the company. Windows 10 Pro offers a number of capabilities and is recommended for small to medium-sized businesses looking for some controls for administration, but not a complete suite needed for larger companies. The ability to block access to the Windows Store is typically for organizations that want more control over their own devices. This is included in the added value of Windows 10 Enterprise«.
The update has been present since november last year, but it was seen as nothing more than a bug rather than new functionality.
