How to unenroll from the Windows Insider Program from your PC

Insider

El 10 Anniversary Windows Update is being deployed still for PC and Mobile, but while it reaches all users, you have to know that Microsoft is already working on the development of "Redstone 2", which will be released in early 2017.

So, if you want to focus on that big update received these days, the Anniversary Update, maybe it suits you to detach yourself of the Windows Insider program so as not to receive new updates, since most of them become part of the development of Redstone 2. Here we show you how to unsubscribe from Windows Insider from your own PC.

Microsoft offers two ways to unsubscribe to the builds of the previous Insider, but we are going to focus on the easiest and one that involves fewer tasks to perform.

How to unsubscribe from the Windows Insider program

If your device has build 14393 Windows 10 or higher, you are already with the final version of Windows 10 Anniversary Update on your computer or phone, and then you will see the option to unenroll your device while maintaining the current state of settings and files.

It is important that you check which version you have installed, so stop by Settings> System> About and verify the build number before continuing with the next steps.

  • Press the key combination Windows + I to open the Windows settings app (On your phone it can be done with a swipe on the home screen to the left and click on settings)

Configuration

  • Click on Updates & Security
  • Click on Windows Insider Program on the left side of the window

Insider

  • Click on the button "Stop Insider Preview builds"
  • A window will appear to confirm cancellation in which you must click on "stop the builds completely"
  • You confirm and restart the computer

The moment you restart, you will no longer be part of the Windows Insider Program. You can always return from that same window following the same steps to "Windows Insider Program."
