Every day we continue to hear new news about Windows 10 and today we have learned that Microsoft will comply with FIDO 2.0 technical specifications with its new operating system. For many this may sound like Chinese, but FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) is a consortium created by PayPal and Lenovo with the aim of promoting secure forms of authentication at all times.
FIDO promotes many techniques that are an important alternative to traditional passwords, which despite what we all believe are quite insecure. Some of these techniques could be used in Windows 10 to give access to a session.
Among the best known techniques are the recognition of fingerprints, facial or even iris scanning. However, it seems that in the future, we do not know if near or far, the new Windows 10 will allow the user to start a session by reading the fingerprint or voice recognition.
These techniques are nothing new and we can already see them for a long time in other operating systems such as Android or iOS, so Microsoft would only catch up with other software, providing the new Windows 10 with new and important measures security for the user.
Do you see the need for these new security measures that the new Windows 10 could incorporate?.
