Windows 10 continues to reach more and more users, in part thanks to the insistence that Microsoft has put. However, not all is good news for those of Redmond who today have encountered the bad news provided by a report published by the prestigious site Net Applications and in which it is pointed out that Windows is down for the first time in 10 years from 90% market share.
With the arrival of Windows 10 on the market, Microsoft and practically everyone took it for granted that the dominance of Windows, in all its versions present on the market, would increase its dominance. However, this seems not to be the case and its market share has fallen by 1,68% in the last month, to go from 90,45% in March, to 88,77% of the month of April.
Undoubtedly the market share of the different Windows that are present in the market is more than interesting and overwhelming, but after 10 years it is difficult and surprising to understand this decline, especially considering what was expected of the new Windows 10.
It looks like the decline in market share has a lot to do with the decline in Windows 7 users, who abandon the most popular version of Microsoft's operating system, but not to upgrade to Windows 10, but to opt for other software on the market.
The market share of Windows is still very important, and although for the first time in 10 years it has fallen below 90%, it is not at the moment something worrisome for Microsoft. It would be necessary to be very attentive to how it evolves in the coming months and see especially if some of Windows' rivals grow or, on the contrary, stagnate without offering figures that suggest growth.
Do you think it is worrying that Windows for the first time in 10 years drops its market share below 90%?.
