We all like to know the weather information. Who more and who less, always check the temperature daily before leaving home along with the prediction to adapt your clothing to the weather. With the release of the second half of 2021 update, Microsoft wanted to make it easier for users to do this.

My choice until recently was Firefox. However, after announcing that it was dropping support for Web Apps, it decided that it was time to change.
My choice was to move to Microsoft Edge. Since Microsoft completely redesigned and adopted Chromium for the development of this browser, Edge has become one of the best browsers on the market, thanks, in part, to the fact that it allows us to install any extension available for Chrome.
From Microsoft Edge to the taskbar
However, not everything is perfect. One of the most negative points of this browser is the home page. On the home page of Microsoft Edge, the Redmond company allows us to add different news sources so that we can be informed without visiting newspaper websites.
While it is true that you can customize the home page to remove this information, and apparently I am not the only one who does it, Microsoft has decided move that information to a widget on the taskbar. A widget, which also shows us the weather.
If you place this weather widget at the end of the taskbar, a widget that, when you place the mouse over it, shows us in summary of the most important news based on our preferences, which allows us to configure which sources we want to be displayed and which not.
The integration of this new widget It's perfect, since it barely takes up any space on your computer. However, for users who don't have a Full HD resolution, it's just another icon that takes up space from the applications you've placed on the taskbar.

What is the Windows 10 weather widget
The Windows 10 taskbar weather widget not only shows us the weather, but also shows us current news depending on our interests.

How to customize news sources
As I mentioned above, the weather widget shows us the most relevant news based on the topics that we have previously selected when we run Microsoft Edge for the first time.

- First, we must mouse over widget to display the window with the news.
- Next, we click on the gear wheel that is shown in the upper right corner of that window.
- From the menu that appears, click Customize now.
- Next, a web page will open where we can select content that we like the most classified in different categories:

- Within each category, we have different subsections, to further customize the information we want to be displayed in this widget.
How to remove news feeds in weather widget in Windows 10
Above, I have commented that many of the sources that are displayed in this widget are focused on earn clicks with catchy and misleading headlines (Clickbait).
If you would like to remove these types of sources, we must follow these steps:
- We place the mouse on the widget of the weather and we wait for the window with the news to appear.
- Next, click with the mouse on the horizontal three points that are shown in the lower right part of the news that does not interest us.
- In the drop-down menu that appears, click on Hide news from medianame.
How to remove the weather widget in Windows 10

If we have changed our mind and want to use the Windows 10 weather widget again, we must right-click on the taskbar.
- In the drop-down menu that is displayed, we go to News and interests.
- Here are three options:
- Show icon and text. Shows the weather icon along with the temperature.
- Show only the icon. It only shows the weather icon.
- Deactivate. Disable and remove the weather widget.
