3D Builder, a Microsoft app to print 3D objects

3D Builder

Although Microsoft's mobile ecosystem is not going through a good time, the truth is that all users speak wonders of its technology and it continues to be the case. Recently the boys of Microsoft have released a new app called 3D Builder. Many of you will say that they should have released more than one app, which is very little. You are right, but this app will make a difference with other mobile operating systems.

3D Builder is an app oriented to the world of 3D printing. Thus, its most basic function will be to be able to send the files to a 3D printer and print via mobile without any problem.

But 3D Builder does more things. Another of its interesting functions is that transforms our mobile with Windows 10 Mobile into a powerful object scanner that will create 3D models that we can print on a 3D printer. This is interesting because it is not the same to carry a 3D scanner than with a mobile, even if it is the Lumia 950 XL.

3D Builder supports the following 3D printing file formats: 3MF, STL, OBJ, PLY, and WRL (VRML) files. Files that can be printed in any free 3D printer that has a bluetooth or Wifi connection. As for proprietary 3D printers, it will only be possible to print on the models indicated by Microsoft through an official page.

3D Builder is free, something interesting for those looking or starting in the 3D world, but unfortunately Windows 10 Mobile is not very popular. Although if we find that it is a universal app, the spectrum of devices is broader. In this case, Xbox and Windows 10 users can also install 3D Builder and use it, so thanks to this app, we can create printed objects from our game console.

I personally find it very practical. Something that andjust with the scanner function saves us a lot of money. And it goes without saying that you don't have to carry a desktop or laptop computer to print a 3D object, something that will end with this app, don't you think?
