Windows 10 is already the most used desktop operating system in Spain

Windows 10

Just over a year ago Microsoft officially presented the new Windows 10, which during its first year of life was offered free of charge to users of Windows 7 or Windows 8. There is no doubt that its success was resounding in the market, quickly reaching 100 million installations. Many said that the success was mainly due to the possibility of getting free software, something that not all of us believed.

And finally time has proved us right, since a few weeks after Windows 10 stopped being free, its success continues to grow. For example, in the last hours we have known that Windows 10 is already the most used desktop operating system in Spain.

According to data published by the consulting firm StatCounter Global Stats, Windows 10 has just surpassed Windows 7 in Spain in terms of market share. Windows 7 now has a market share of 31.42%, compared to the 31.68% that the new version of Microsoft's operating system already has.

Behind the different versions of Windows are OS X with a market share of 11.12%. In between of course we also see Windows 8.1 and the eternal Windows XP.
