The arrival of Windows 10 was a real revolution in terms of the concept we had of Windows. One of the main novelties that attracted the most attention was the implementation of the virtual assistant Cortana, being the first desktop operating system to do so, a year before Apple did, a company that had its personal assistant Siri several years before.
Make use of a personal assistant in a desktop operating system, in which we are used to doing all the processes manually, can be a nuisance for many users They've never gotten used to it, so having the assistant on hand is more of a problem than a solution.
The solution in this sense is simple since we only have to deactivate it. Disabling Cortana will erase everything Microsoft's personal assistant has learned from us on that device, but the data stored in the notebook will still be available. Also when Cortana is disabled, we can decide if we want to do something with what we still had stored in the cloud. The process to deactivate it is very simple and it hardly requires knowledge to do it.
Disable Cortana in Windows 10
- First of all we must click on Cortana to display access to the Microsoft wizard menu.
- Then we go to the cogwheel that gives us access to the configuration.
- In this section we must uncheck the box Cortana can give you suggestions, ideas fins, reminders, alerts, etc. so that the wizard is no longer present in our operating system.
This option is reversible so if we finally decide that we want to use it again, we must retrace our steps and reactivate the tab that we have previously deactivated.
