Until the arrival of Windows 10, to be able to edit photos we had the Paint editor as the only option, very fair in terms of functions. If we installed Office, we had an application called Photos that allowed us to edit our photos quickly and easily. But with the arrival of this version of Windows 10, the guys at Microsoft They have added the application called Photos that came with the Office software, an application that allows us to edit our favorite photographs, to later be able to share them with our friends or family. Below we show you two applications that allow us to edit photos, with limitations, without having to install any third-party application.

To edit photos in Windows 10 without having to install any application we can make use of Paint and the Photos application. Both applications allow us to perform some of the most used functions, but each one also has specific functions that we can find in the other.

Paint

One of the oldest applications that continues to accompany us with Windows in its latest versions is Paint, a photo editor that allows us to change the size of the photo, add default shapes, paint as if it were a canvas...

Photos

However, the Photos application is a complete photo editor that in addition to modifying the size of the images, cropping them and others, we can also add different filters to customize our photos to suit our needs and then share them directly from it, something that We cannot do it from the Paint application, since in that aspect it is very limited. With the Photos application we cannot add text or predetermined figures such as circles, stars, arrows ... something that we can do with the Paint application.

Paint and Photos are the two alternatives we have if we do not want to use third-party applications to easily edit our photographs, since what one does not do, the other does

The only true Microsoft program for editing photos was the Microsoft Office Picture Manager, which they removed from the Office suite. With it you could crop, resize, export, import, modify and many other things photographs. It's a real shame they canceled it.
