Keeping documents, photos and other files in the cloud is often a great advantage in some cases. The truth is that, the fact that it is possible to access them from practically any device, in addition to avoiding the loss of them and the collaboration tools, makes it an important option to take into account, and this is where Google Photos comes into play.
With Google Photos you have the ability to keep all the images you want in the cloud, ordered and classified. However, the problem is that currently the most basic and free plan is somewhat limited, as it has significant storage restrictions. For this reason, we are going to show you how you can export all the files you have uploaded to Google Photos easily.
Google Photos: so you can get all your images using Takeout
As we mentioned, based on the recent changes in Google Photos, you may want to get everything you have uploaded and recover it on your computer. To do this, although it is true that you can select and download the files you want from Google Photos, the truth is that there is a more direct option to export everything, Google Takeout. We explain the steps to follow to obtain your entire gallery:
- Access the Google Takeout tool from any browser and log in with your Google account.
- In the "Create an export" section, uncheck all the options that appear and leave only Google Photos selected. There, you can check the different formats to be used and choose the albums to export. Configure the options you want and scroll down to choose "Next step".
- Will show various export options, such as the destination (preferably by email to download it easier), the compression format or the number of beams that each file should contain, something that you can customize to your liking.
Once the export is created, from Google they will send you some emails informing you of the situation, where the download links of the files will be included in the case of having requested it as a delivery method. However, you should bear in mind that exports are not immediate, and that they will take a while to complete.
