Google Maps has become one of those essential tools in the lives of millions of users. It is something that we can use on the computer or on our smartphone at all times. Thanks to it we can plan our trips in a very comfortable way. Therefore, we may intend to save sites, which are of interest to us.
There may be places you want to go on your next vacation or places you want to know more about in the future. In such case, Google Maps allows you to save sites, adding them to your favorites. A function that can be very useful, so it is good to know how we can use it.
When we want to save sites using the application, we have several options. Google Maps divides this option into several categories, so that we can choose how we want to save the site in question. The options that the application gives us when saving sites in favorites are:
- Favorites: Save it as one of your favorite sites
- I want to go: Create a list of places you want to go on your next trips
- Featured: Save it as a featured site in your account
Save sites on Google Maps
In order to save a site on Google Maps, we will have to open this tool from the browser on the computer. Then using the search engine we will look for the site we want to save. We can also search for it on the map, if this seems more comfortable to us. In any case, it is important to go to that site. In addition, we must be logged in to our Google account.
When we have found the site in question, click on it. It can be a city, a museum or any attraction in a place. When you click on this site, a tab on it appears on the left side of the screen, where we have information. One of the options that appear under the name of said site is to save. We will then have to click on this option to save the site in our account.
By clicking on this option, we see that they show us the three options that we mentioned above. So that You choose in which of these categories that Google Maps offers us to save the site in question. Just click on one and the process is complete. We can follow these steps with all the sites we want to have on the map. The steps are always the same.
View saved sites
If we have saved several sites in our account from Google Maps, we may want to see them sometime. This is something that we will be able to do from the side menu on the web. Also, if you have saved sites from your smartphone as well, if the account was associated, you will be able to see those sites also in this list. So it is very comfortable to see all your activity in this regard. The steps are very simple.
We have to click on the three horizontal stripes that appear in the upper left part of the screen on the web. When we click on them, a side menu opens, where we find a series of options. One of the options in this list is Your sites, on which we have to click at that time. We then access the section where are all the sites that we have saved from our account.
We have to click on the saved tab to see these sites. So, we can see that Google Maps has the sites organized into the three categories that we have seen before. So if we want to see our favorites, we just have to enter that option. Whereas if we want to see sites that we have marked as I want to go, we just have to enter it. Thus we have control over all the sites that we have saved in the tool. If you want to remove any, you just have to click on the site and then click on the save option, so that it is unchecked.
