Many of you have a Facebook account, the most used social network in the world. Although it is possible that at a certain moment you want to stop using it, so you want to delete data from the account. This also includes the messages that are in Messenger. It may also be that you simply want to delete all the messages on the account.
This is something we can do in all versions of the social network. Although we show you the way to do it on the computer, so that you can delete those messages. It is a simple process, although Facebook has not yet introduced a method that allows you to eliminate them all at once.
While this has its reasons, to prevent us from deleting all messages by mistake, makes that if we have many conversations in Messenger, the process of deleting them can take a long time. Since we have to go from chat to chat, deleting each of them. Luckily, the steps to follow are very simple at all times, which certainly helps a lot.
Delete Facebook messages
The first thing to do is open Facebook on your computer. Next we enter the account in which we want to delete messages. So, we have two options to be able to do this. You can directly access the chat in question that you want to delete, entering from the messages button in the upper right. Or you can open Messenger, by clicking on the Messenger option, located on the left side of the screen. So that you have access to all the conversations that have been held from that account.
The two methods work just as well. Also, it does not matter which one we are going to use, since as we have said, each conversation has to be eliminated individually. When we click on a specific chat, this conversation will open in the center of the screen, with full screen mode. In the next step we have to look at the right side of the screen. There is a kind of configuration menu, where we find several options. One of the icons that appear in this part is a cogwheel, on which you have to press. By clicking on it, a couple of additional options appear, of which one is to delete. We have to use that option.
A small warning window will then appear. Since Facebook reminds us that then, all messages and content (photos, videos, links, files….) that have been sent in said conversation, will be permanently deleted. If this is what we really want to do, then we just have to click delete. The conversation is going to be eliminated in this way forever. If we want to do this with several conversations on the social network, we just have to repeat the process with each of them, without problems in this case.
Archive or delete
It is an option that we must consider. If you want to delete this conversation from Facebook, which means that we lose the files in said chat, then we can delete the conversation. But it is also important to know that in the social network we do not have the possibility to restore deleted messages. So we must think about the consequences that this may have in this case. Since if it is a chat that we do not care about, it is something that is not a nuisance. But we can end up losing photos or data of interest.
On the other hand, we have the function of archiving a conversation. It is a very simple function, but it allows us to stop seeing a chat that we have on Facebook, without having to delete it. This is exactly what makes it a feature of interest to many users. Since this way, nothing is lost from said chat, but we stop seeing it in the inbox during the time it is inactive. A simple way of being able to stop seeing said conversation but avoiding losing the data in it.
