How to disable a certain USB port in Windows 10

Windows 10

It is possible that at a certain moment you want to disable a USB port on your computer. You may be working with multiple devices at the moment and you don't want to make mistakes. Windows 10 allows us to disable a USB port on the computer at all times. So that for a certain period of time it is out of operation.

This is a simple trick, but it can work very well at any time. Thus, if we are using Windows 10 at a certain time and we don't want said USB port to work, we can configure it. We can deactivate it temporarily, for as long as necessary.

In this case we are going to make use of the device manager in Windows 10. We can search for it directly in the search bar that we have on the task bar. Then we will get an option that has that name and the administrator will then open in a new window on the computer screen.

Windows 10

In this administrator we will have to look for the section where said USB port is. The normal thing is that we will find it in the section called "Universal Serial Bus Controllers«. So we only have to access it by clicking. A list will open where we have the USB ports that exist.

Then, when we have found the one we want to disable in Windows 10, we right click on it. We will get several options, one of which is to disable. When we use this function it will stop working immediately. So the port is already disabled at this time.

The moment we want to use it again, we follow the same steps in Windows 10. Only in this case, when clicking on said port, we will click on the enable option. So after a few seconds it will work on the computer again and we can use it normally.
