While our computer is on, many records are kept about all the activities we carry out. Windows also carries a control over how long the equipment has been on. A fact that in many cases we do not know, but that can be good to know. Since it can give us a clue about the activity or if we are subjecting the equipment to excessive use and we must give it some rest.
Windows 10 gives us a number of ways we can know how long the computer has been on. They are very simple ways, but they will allow us to see this information at all times. So we can know if the time has come to pause and give the team a break.
Task Manager
The easiest way to know how long our computer has been on is using task manager. Thanks to it we can see a lot of data on the performance of the equipment. Among the data they give us is the time the equipment has been on, which is just what we are looking for in this case. To do this, we have to open the task manager, using the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Del. Several options appear on the screen, from which we click on the administrator, which will then open on the computer screen.
Once inside the task manager, you have to look at the tabs at the top. Of these tabs you have to click on the performance tab. We are going to see all kinds of activity on the computer. At the bottom, below the graphs we will see that there is a text that says "Active time". This indicates how long it has been on. So we already know that figure.
Control panel
The second way in which to know is if the computer has been connected to the network since we turned it on, which is usually the usual thing. So we can know based on how long you have been connected to the internetEither WiFi or an Ethernet cable. This is possible in Windows 10. To do this, we have to use the control panel. Write control panel in the taskbar to access it.
When we are inside the control panel, you have to go to the networks and Internet section. In it there are several options, the one that interests us is the center of networks and shared resources. Then in it you have to click on the network to which we are connected, the one at home or the one at work. Inside we will see that there are several sections, one of them is called duration. It shows the time that the connection has been active. Therefore, we can know how long the computer has been on. Very easy to know, but it will only help us if the computer has been connected to the Internet at all times. If not, it is not the real data.
DCM
There are other methods available in Windows to know how long the computer has been on. In this case, we can make use of CMD, the Windows console. In it we find a tool that allows us to access this information. It is System Information, which will give us this information. To do this, we will have to run a CMD window, using Cortana for example, with administrator permissions. When we have done that, we must use this command: systeminfo | find "System boot time"
Now, the time the computer was turned on will be displayed on the screen. So you can see this way all the time it has been on and running. It is another method that you can use without too much trouble. Although it is probably the first of all the most comfortable of the three that are currently available. Have you used any of these methods?
