CloudBook, the low-cost laptop from Microsoft

cloudbook

We have been talking about Microsoft's cloudbooks for a long time, low-cost devices that took Windows 10 to the cheapest devices on the market, but until now it was a name and a brand with Windows 10.

It seems that Microsoft is going to bet on them and will launch its own device called Cloudbook. This device will compete with Google's Chromebooks and will try to gain a foothold in the educational market or will be confirmed on May 2 in an official presentation.

Until the day of the presentation we will not know anything official but several Microsoft executives have affirmed and confirmed the existence of this device, not the price of the Cloudbook nor the hardware benefits it will have.

In any case, we do know that you will have Windows Cloud. Windows Cloud is a version of Windows 10 that will not support external software installations. That is, it will be like Windows RT, it will only support installations of programs from the Microsoft Store. Or at least that is what a Microsoft executive has confirmed.

Microsoft's Cloudbooks will have Windows Cloud as the operating system

Along with this, in the Microsoft store will enable an educational space, a space of apps and applications that any user can install in Windows 10. This will work the same as Office, that is, when you download the package, certain apps and applications related to the educational world will appear on our Windows.

Needless to say Microsoft ambitions the educational market, a market that Google has managed to remove from Apple and that is reporting huge profits to Google.

If we consider the existence of Surface Book and Surface Pro, CloudBook will be a low-performance team, below these two devices in terms of hardware, but its price is still unknown and it is a key element if you want to compete with chromebooks, since the end user looks for functionality but also to take care of his pocket. Will have to wait to the event of May 2, but everything indicates that netbooks will make a comeback, well, cloudbooks.
