In recent weeks we have had the opportunity to test the Lumia 950 and today we show you our analysis and we tell you our opinion about this terminal.
Before delving deeply into this detailed analysis of the Lumia 950 we can tell you in a general way, that This Lumia 950 has left us a good taste in our mouths, thanks to some of its outstanding features, but also with the feeling that we expected something more of this Microsoft smartphone. And it came to the market boasting of being a high-end and has been relegated to a secondary position.
In addition, and unfortunately, the sales of this terminal have fallen far short of those expected, which has been bad news for Microsoft that is already working on the development of a new flagship, which really seems that it will be a terminal of the call high-end and that we may see at the end of this year 2016 or at the beginning of 2017.

One of the aspects that has left us colder is the design of this Lumia 950 and it is that from the first moment Microsoft confirmed that this smartphone would be part of the so-called high-end market. A plastic design and without any outstanding features, it is not typical of any high-end smartphone for which we must pay a significant amount of money.
The design is true that it is very similar to other Lumia, manufactured by Nokia, but it is far from what we expected. In the market we can already find mid-range or even low-range terminals with metallic finishes and very careful designs. If Redmond wants to gain a foothold in the competitive mobile phone market, the first step is to create a careful design down to the last detail.
One of the great advantages of the design of this Lumia 950 is that the battery is removable, being able to remove the back cover of the terminal, and expanding the internal storage thanks to a microSD card. Furthermore this device incorporates a reversible USB Type-C port at the bottom of the device which is undoubtedly one of the great features of this Lumia.

There is no doubt in view of these specifications that we are facing a so-called high-end mobile device, which only lacks a good design to be able to rub shoulders with other terminals present on the market and that today can boast of being the true "roosters" of the mobile phone market.
Screen
One of the aspects that most attracts the attention of this Lumia 950 as soon as it is turned on is its 5.2 inch. And it is that the size could be defined as perfect and its 2.560 x 1.440 pixel QHD resolution it is more than interesting and of optimal quality. In terms of pixels per inch, we find a fairly high figure of 564, which is somewhat below that offered by the large flagships on the market.
As for the visualization that the screen of this Lumia 950 offers us, it is more than good, even in bright outdoor areas. In addition, the colors that it shows are quite real, and thanks to Windows 10 Mobile we will be able to adjust and modify to a great extent some of the values, such as the temperature of the colors or the brightness, which will allow us an even more optimal visualization.
Camera
The camera on this Lumia 950 is one of the few features that is at the level of some of the best mobile devices on the market. With a sensor 20 megapixel Pureview with f / 1.9 aperture, ZEISS certification, optical stabilization and triple LED flash, we could say that this is an outstanding camera that offers great results in almost any environment or situation.

The only negative aspect that we can blame on this Lumia 950 is the slowness that is sometimes present in the automatic post-processing of the images and that can be up to 5 seconds in some cases.
Windows 10 Mobile, good software with a lot of room for improvement
The Lumia 950 were the first mobile devices on the market in which we could enjoy 10 Windows Mobile, which is installed in a native way inside. This new Microsoft operating system offers us more than interesting features and specifications, although the room for improvement is quite wide.
Cortana or Continuum are two of the great features of this new operating system. As for the voice assistant, the Redmond-based company catches up with Google or Apple, which have already had their voice assistants for a long time. Regarding Continuum, which allows us to connect our terminal to a screen or television and connect it to use it as if it were a computer, it is undoubtedly one of the most interesting advantages that Windows 10 Mobile offers us.
Like the operating system, this feature still lacks great development, but without a doubt the idea is more than interesting, and it leads us directly to a future in which users can have everything we need in a single device .
Among the negative aspects, there is still the little presence of applications in the official Microsoft store, although in recent times it seems that some of the most important developers have decided to bet heavily on Windows 10 Mobile.
Price and Availability
The two existing versions of the Lumia 950 They have been available in the market for a long time with a price that has been falling greatly over time. Currently on Amazon it sells for a price of 320 euros in the version of 32 GB.

Since Microsoft officially presented the Lumia 950 I had an incredible desire to test this terminal, but when the opportunity has come, I honestly have to say that it has left me a little indifferent and I would almost say that even cold, to put it in a colloquial way.
The Redmond-based company has always boasted that this Lumia is a high-end device, but as soon as we take it out of the box we realize that it is far from being able to face other flagships on the market with guarantees. The design is undoubtedly one of the weak points of this terminal, but the screen, the operating system and even the camera are not up to the task to be a high-end smartphone.
Perhaps with the price it has today, very far from the one with which it made its debut in the market, we could place it as one of the best mid-range on the market, but to make the leap to the high-end, it lacks a lot .
If you want to know my opinion I think that for the price it has today, in Amazon for example, we are facing a good terminal, which offers us great options and functions with Windows 10 Mobile. In addition, the possibility of using Continuum or Cortana are more than interesting for any user.
This Lumia 950 has not met expectations, as has been shown by the low sales numbers it has reached in the market, but Microsoft is already preparing a terminal with which to conquer the high-end. We are talking of course about the Surface Phone, from which many things are expected. Hopefully when it hits the market it won't be as far as this Lumia 950 from being what all or almost all of us expected.
