Mediatek says no to Microsoft mobiles and tablets

In April, one of the most important events for Microsoft and its platform will be held. In this event, among other things, Windows 10 ARM will be discussed, the new version of Windows that will be oriented to the world of mobile devices, that is, tablets and smartphones. Companies such as Intel or Qualcomm are already working on this platform but some have recently confirmed that they will not be in this project. The latest to do so is MediaTek, the great mobile chip giant that competes with Qualcomm.

Mediatek does not believe in Windows 10 ARM and for this reason he has affirmed that he will not be or invest anything in this project, so we will not have any device with Windows 10 and Mediatek.

For Mediatek, Windows 10 ARM is a failed project that will not succeed. Mediatek thinks that already in 2012 Windows RT was tried and it was a failure, so Windows 10 ARM will not be something different. For this reason, he thinks that it is not worth investing anything in this platform.

Mediatek believes that Windows 10 ARM will be a failed project like Windows RT

The main flaw of Windows on ARM platforms is the difficulty you have to run native applications on said platform. That is why Windows RT did not allow the installation of any application outside the store and that is why Windows 10 Mobile cannot run Win32 applications.

However, both Microsoft and Qualcomm believe otherwise and according to them, not only by the end of the year we will have devices with this new operating system but in a few weeks we will be able to see the first results of this new platform.

Windows 10 ARM is important because it will be the operating system that Surface Phone has and many mobile devices such as tablets. But it will be the end user who will earn the most as they will be able to run old applications on their mobiles and tablets without depending on a laptop or a physical computer. Something that already happens with the Surface Pro but not with Lumia 950. Now then Do you think Windows 10 ARM will have a great future ahead? Do you think it will really exist or will it be a Windows RT update? Do you think it will help make the Surface Phone spectacular?
