Microsoft takes a step back with Wifi Sense

Windows 10

The recent security problems that the Microsoft company is experiencing based on its latest operating system, Windows 10, makes it rethink all its applications. One of the originally included with the latest version of your operating system, Wifi Sense, allowed us to share the network keys with our friends and family of WiFi connections that we have stored in our equipment.

Now, looking back at the road traveled, the Redmond company does not think this was a good idea to implement within your system as a result of the number of users who use it and that you are aware of the security problems it can cause. Continuing to maintain this function is therefore of no interest and will be withdrawn in the near future.

Although we are novice Windows 10 users, the term WiFi Sense would sound familiar to many. During the installation of the operating system we were already being consulted about the activation of this function that It allowed us to share our network more easily when we received visitors at home, avoiding having to manually enter the password.

Although it is an interesting and useful function for some users, it seems that this number is not relevant to Microsoft and will no longer support the feature, since continuing to update the code and its low relevance does not make it worth the effort invested. With these words Microsoft explained in a recent conference that in the next Windows Insider Preview we will no longer be able to use it and that it will no longer be available very soon.

For now, the rest of the systems with Windows 10 will be able to continue using it as usual, but it has been imposed as deadline the end of this summer. So we will have to find some other alternative to it.
