Windows 10 and its previous versions have never been characterized as operating systems that occupy what is precisely said little on our computer. With the passage of time, the space that our version of Windows can occupy can become too high, which can force us, depending on the capacity of our hard disk, to carry out a clean installation, a zero installation, formatting the hard drive and reinstalling all applications. If Windows 10 already occupies an important part of our hard drive, the problem worsens when we install some of the great updates that the guys from Redmond periodically release.
As with Windows 10 Anniversary Update, the last major update that Microsoft has released, once it is done, it leaves a significant part of the space occupied on our hard drive. These files allow us to return to the previous version of Windows if our PC were to have a performance, operation or other problem that affects our PC's day-to-day life.
But as the weeks go by and we see that after the update everything works correctly we must make use of the option to Free up space on our hard disk, a space that at that time is being occupied by the temporary files used to update and that can sometimes arrive to exceed 30 GB.
To do this, we just have to go to our Equipment, go to the main unit of our PC, which will be almost 100% drive C and click on the right button. Next we click on properties. In the window with different tabs shown below, click on General (it is usually the one shown by default) and go to the Free space option. By clicking on this option, Windows will show us all the files that we can delete from our hard drive to free up space, including the option Previous installations of Windows, and the space it occupies.
