Windows smartphones continue to lose ground in Spain

Windows 10

For some months now, it has been more than known that smartphones with Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile operating system they continue to lose presence and share in the market, which is increasingly dominated by Android. According to the latest data provided by Kantar, Microsoft smartphones continue to lose market share and except in Japan, where their share stands at 0,5%, in the other countries it continues to decline.

The little pull that Windows 10 Mobile is having in the market and the non-arrival of this new operating system to many of the Lumia devices, have made many users decide to change their Windows Phone for an Android or even a device with an operating system iOS.

Returning to the data provided by Kantar, the share of sales during the first quarter of mobile devices with Microsoft's operating system, remained below 10%, which represents a new drop at a global level.

As regards Spain Windows market share is practically non-existent and is that it remains at 0,6%. In other countries such as Italy and France, the market share remains at 6,3% and 5%. If we compare this figure with that of the same period last year, the situation is dramatic since last year the market shares stood at just over 14% in both cases.

Mobile operating systems

Britain, a place where Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile had until recently a fairly large market share, is now at 5%, which is a huge blow for the Redmond-based company.

The future of mobile devices with Microsoft's operating system seems quite compromised, although we hope that with the push of the company that Satya Nadella runs, the market share can grow and recover in the coming weeks or months.

Do you think Microsoft will manage to gain market share of Windows 10 Mobile and devices with Windows operating system?.
