The Surface Phone might not be ready for 2018

Surface Phone

At the beginning of 2016 there was talk of an imminent launch by Microsoft of its Surface Phone smartphone, a launch that would take place at the end of 2016. Months later, that launch date was postponed to 2017 and at the end of 2016 there was already talk of principles 2018 as the year the Surface Phone would be seen, but it seems that it will not be.

Several Microsoft managers and employees claim that 2018 would be too ideal a date for the launch of the Surface Phone and it is not expected to be so. That is to say, it will not finally be 2018 when we have the Surface Phone in our hands.

Apparently everything will depend on the software and not the hardware. The Surface Phone will bring Windows ARM with it, a new version of Windows adapted to ARM platforms that will make it possible for users to use universal apps on this type of device, with what we have really being a laptop and not a mobile.

Windows ARM might not be the only reason for the delay of the new Surface Phone

Windows ARM is being developed but its development is not as Microsoft expected and therefore a delay in the release date is expected. In any case it is recommended that let's stay tuned for the next Microsoft BUILD 2017, event where we can see the status of Windows ARM and its applications.

And unofficially, I think the new delay It is due in part to the new patents that Microsoft has approvedPatents that I did not expect and that will undoubtedly include in the new Surface Phone, but this has not been confirmed by any Microsoft executive, so it may be just a coincidence.

In any case, it seems that those who want to try the Surface Phone have to wait a little longer, but Will Microsoft's mobile division stay alive on those dates? What do you think?

It will be too late for me, at that point I will write off the 950xl for a Nokia.

I already said in its day that Windows. Phone is not bad, but it seems that there they do not think the same, if it takes so long, you run the risk of being forgotten.

Those of us who bet on Windows phone Mobile are disappointed. I do not get necessary applications like operating with the bank, the alarm system and other important ones.
Microsoft should make applications like these available and operational.
I still do not lose hope.
They should inform that we should wait and know if it is worth it.
