Serif, the company behind Affinity Designer, has launched open beta for its award-winning design software, allowing designers to use it for free during the beta period.
Affinity Designer is a tool that comes to replace adobe photoshop, or at least be an alternative, by providing precise tools and offering a higher performance than its direct competitor. A software that has gained followers for a long time and that was exclusively for Apple iMac.
It is just in 2015 when Apple awarded Affinity Designer with Design Award in 2015 for its aesthetics. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the program, you can play the video that Serif herself has published on her website and which reflects its greatest virtues for a software that performs excellently.
Regarding the beta, not include all features which will be in its final version, however, it offers most of the tools that designers would need to get started. These are its main capabilities:
- Layers
- Unlimited redo story
- Saved styles
- Special effects
- Export to multiple formats, including: PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PSD, PDF, SVG, WMF, and EPS
We left a good set of features, but we could say that Affinity Designer has everything a designer could need today to carry out your design work. At the moment the program is launched, it will show some of the most remarkable works that have been carried out using its tools in order to give an idea of what it can be used for, both in its final version and in the test version.
