The Centennial Project will be presented at BUILD 2016

Microsoft

This same week the new edition of Microsoft's BUILD will begin where both the company and the developers will present their projects. And although there are many secrets, we already know that during this build it will be presented the Centennial Project and possibly after the Build it will begin to be used.

The Centennial Project is a Microsoft project in which it is intended to bring together all Windows applications under the same store, Microsoft Store and with the same format, the universal app, in such a way that more than 16 million applications join the Microsoft store. This would be useful for users who would not have to search for packages, or download anything, just have access to the Microsoft Store.

This would be the nice part and the less kind part would be that Microsoft would have a record of all installed applications as well as that developers would have to give part of their income to Microsoft for making paid apps in the Microsoft Store, being a counterproductive measure as it is being sold.

Project Centennial could be a double-edged sword for Microsoft

I imagine that the Centennial Project will be something more than what we have said, I highly doubt that Microsoft has those approaches and could be a breakthrough for Microsoft users, but everything will depend on how Microsoft and the developers want to approach it as well as the limitations or attractions that they will surely impose for the project to work.

I personally believe that collect more than 16 million applications under the same store is a great idea, something that will give visibility to many applications crushed by Internet pages, but I have to admit that it can also be a measure of coercion and lack of privacy, something in which Microsoft is failing a lot lately Do not you think?
