The Samsung Galaxy Book is now official and a serious competitor to Surface devices

Samsung Galaxy Book

Samsung has not missed its usual appointment with the Mobile World Congress, but unfortunately or almost I would say that luckily for everyone it has not officially presented its new smartphone of the moment, which this time was the Galaxy S8, but has taken the opportunity to present the Galaxy Tab S3, in addition to the spectacular Galaxy Book. This device is the evolution of the Galaxy TabPro S and without a doubt a serious alternative to Microsoft's Surface.

The South Korean company has presented two different versions of the Galaxy Book, which differ mainly by the type and size of the screen. In addition, the appearance on the scene of the S Pen is also striking, which will offer us a huge number of options and functions.

Nothing else to see the Galaxy Book draws anyone's attention, and it is that Samsung has achieved an almost perfect design, which I am very afraid will not leave you indifferent. They have also chosen to develop two different versions, one with a 10-inch screen, perfect to take anywhere and anywhere and another 12-inch that will allow us to work very comfortably, without having to give up taking it anywhere. .

Features and specifications of the Galaxy Book 10

Features and specifications of the Galaxy Book 12

For all of us who want a larger screen, a second version of the Galaxy Book will be available with a 12-inch screen and the following features and specifications;

  • Dimensions: 291,3,2 x 199,8 x 7,4 mm
  • Weight: 754 grams
  • 12-inch Super AMOLED screen with 2160 x 1440 resolution
  • 5GHz dual-core Intel Core i3,1 processor

As we have seen, the main difference between both terminals is the size of the screen, and also the type since in the 12-inch version is a Super AMOLED panel. In addition, in this version we also find a seventh generation Intel Core i5 processor, which is especially adapted and suitable for tablets.

If we take a look at the specifications of the version with a 12-inch screen, we also find a greater RAM memory and greater internal storage, perfect for any user.

The S Pen keeps getting better with new options

Samsung

One of the great novelties that we find in the new Galaxy Book is the S Pen that has improved greatly, with a smaller 0.7 millimeter tip for greater pressure sensitivity.

Also in this new and improved S Pen functions are integrated "Screen Off Memo" to take notes quickly, and also, according to Samsung, to make "professional designs with advanced drawing tools."

Both the pencil, the case and the keyboard will be included in a pack that will begin to be sold very soon, at a price that for now has not been officially confirmed by Samsung, but we are very afraid that it will not be exactly reduced.

Does Microsoft and its Surface devices have anything to fear?

Microsoft paved the way for convertible devices a long time ago with the launch of Surface devices, of which we could soon see a make-over. However, with the passage of time we have seen how other manufacturers such as Lenovo, Samsung or Chuwi manage to launch devices of this type to the market, approaching the characteristics and benefits of the Surface, and in some things greatly improving its price.

Despite the perfection that the Surface has reached, I am very afraid that Microsoft has a lot to fear and is that this Samsung Galaxy Book has everything to be placed not only at the height of the Redmond devices, but to surpass them, thanks to some certainly interesting specifications.

Today we have only been able to test the performance and operation of the Galaxy Book far above, but it has left us a more than good taste in our mouths. Soon we will be able to test this device and make the most of it to confirm our initial thoughts or decide to acquire a Microsoft Surface.

What do you think of the new Samsung Galaxy Book that has been officially presented today?. Tell us in the space reserved for comments on this post or through some of the social networks in which we are present.
