Viber stops application development for Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile

Viber together with WhatsApp was one of the first messaging applications to hit the market and they did it to stay. Vibre unlike WhatsApp has been adding many more options over time such as the possibility of making calls, buying stickers and others, something that has taken many years to reach WhatsApp. Viber is currently available on all platforms both mobile and desktop, something similar to Telegram, but it seems that that is about to change, since according to a company representative, the company will stop developing the application for Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile.

The market share of Windows 10 is very large but as we all know, the share of Windows 10 Mobile is very small and developers want to focus their interests on applications for iOS and Android, the main platforms where the application is used and from where it is used the most. especially to make calls as well as send messages. The future plans of the application for Windows 10 at the moment and although the app is already universal, they stop and in the coming months they will not receive any news or updates unless they have to do with the security or stability of the application.

At the moment we do not know if the messaging application will continue to work indefinitely on computers with Windows 10, but the obligation of Windows so that developers update their apps to be universal, they have not been very funny and for now we are going to have to wait and see if the platform finally abandons the desktop application completely or if it finds some motivation interesting enough to continue developing it.

Viber is not the first nor the last that for some time to be part is leaving aside not only Windows 10 Mobile but also the Windows 10 platform, being universal applications, something that Microsoft should stop as far as possible, especially now it wants to limit, as far as possible, the installation of applications on PCs.
