One of the great controversies that Windows 10 generated was the mandatory installation of its updates, without any possibility of postponing them. This also included the applications obtained through the Windows Store, so each of the new versions of the Apps published on this site causes automatic installation on all PCs.

The fact that undoubtedly felt the worst for users was the inability to make decisions about it in their own system, which, in a certain sense, prevents them from controlling and customizing their equipment. Microsoft has attended to the discrepancies that this has caused and has released an update today through the Windows Store that allows the same, deactivating the automatic updates of the applications obtained through this means.

From now on, with this new update, if we want that the applications that we have obtained through the Windows Store are not updated automatically, we will have to go to the configuration within the program and deactivate this option. There we will see, pointing with the mouse in the lower right corner of the screen and later moving it up, the option to Configuration, from which we can access the option of Update apps automatically and disable it.

Once this is done, within the Windows Store, we can find out which updates are available for our manually installed applications and choose which ones we want to apply independently.

Users of the Pro version of Windows 10 will also benefit from this update, which, in addition to being able to disable this function, will be able to schedule when they want automatic updates to take place. This adds a feature to manual download that will be useful to many users.

Although there is no news of this feature coming to the desktop part of the system yet, we hope this news will encourage Microsoft to include this feature in the near future.
