Windows 10 continues to grow as the days and weeks go by, and getting closer to being able to comply the goals that Microsoft set for the new version of its popular operating system. Thanks to the latest data provided by the StatCounter consultancy, the new Windows will close 2016 as the second most popular operating system on the market.
Last year Windows 10 closed the year with a market share of 11.87% and will close 2016 with a market share of 26.99% which speaks of a great and interesting growth. Of course the first position is still reserved for Windows 7.
Of course, the news for Microsoft is more than good and that is that the good growth rate of Windows 10, is joined by the slight loss of market share of Windows 7. In December 2015 the share reached 47.45% to close the this year with 40.22%. The loss of users is significant, something more than expected and normal.
Just behind Windows 10, in third position, it is placed for the first time Mac OS X, which achieves a market share of 11.19% achieving an interesting growth, from the 9.8% market share it had at the close of 2015.
Finally, it is more than interesting to note that Windows XP, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 continue to lose market share and users, which is again great news for Microsoft, which sees how Windows 10 continues to gain users and especially followers.
