Change the shape, color and size of the pointer in Windows 11

A very common complaint among Windows 11 users is that this version of Microsoft's operating system doesn't exactly offer too many customization options. However, there are honorable exceptions. In this post we talk about one of them: change the shape, color and size of the pointer in Windows 11 in a simple way, following the steps that we explain below.

Modify the appearance of the mouse pointer It is not complicated, but it is one of those small actions through which, with very little, very striking results are achieved. And we are not just talking about aesthetic changes, but also about other mouse and PC management options.

As everyone knows, the cursor icon that comes by default in Windows is represented by an arrow. Change pointer size

Many users prefer to have a larger and more visible cursor when it comes to managing their PC, since they consider it much more comfortable. You can change the size of the pointer in Windows 11 through these steps:

1. First, go to the menu Windows 11 settings (keyboard shortcut: Win + I).
2. Then we go to the section «Bluetooth and devices».
3. There we select "Mouse" and then «Mouse pointer».
4. Now we have to go to "Size" and move the slider until we adjust the size of the cursor we want to apply.

Change pointer color

The question of the color of the mouse pointer is also important. Sometimes it is a good idea to choose a bolder color, so that it is more visible. Other times, it is a purely aesthetic question. Whatever the reason each user chooses, we explain how to change the color of the pointer:

1. As before, to start we go to the menu Windows 11 settings (keyboard shortcut: Win + I).
2. Then we select «Bluetooth and devices».
3. From there we go first to "Mouse" and then to «Mouse pointer».
4. At this point we choose «Mouse pointer style», where a drop-down menu opens with several options:
   • Default color.
   • Color black.
   • Gradient style.
   • Change color.
5. When you press the last of these options, a series of options will be displayed at the bottom of the box. recommended colors. If none of them convince us because we want an even greater degree of customization, we can click on «Choose another color», which gives us access to the color palette to choose an even more specific color.

Change the shape of the pointer

Looking for even more customization? In addition to size and color, we can radically change the look of the pointer, choosing a totally new shape, different from the classic arrow design that we all know. The steps to follow are these:

1. Again we access the menu Windows 11 settings (keyboard shortcut: Win + I).
2. Let «Bluetooth and devices».
3. Then we click "Mouse" and then in the option «Mouse pointer».
4. Here we select "Additional mouse settings."
5. A new dialog box opens in which we must select the tab Pointers. There we will find a huge list of pointers of all shapes that we will still be able to customize more through the option "Personalize".
6. Finally, all that remains is to choose the design we want and validate it by clicking "Apply".

What other shapes can the pointer have? Do we have to subject ourselves only to what Windows offers? The answer is no: change the pointer in Windows 11 with third-party designs.
